Defence Quota in NEET 2023


Ministry of Defence has provided some seats exclusively for wards of
defence personnel and officers as per the prescribed Priority list given
in this article. Every year more than 16 lakhs of medical aspirants
appear all India NEET Examination conducted by National Testing
Agency. In this article we will focus on the information relaated to
MBBS & BDS Admission 2023 in Defence Quota Seats. Among the
huge number of candidates only 65,000 seats are there for MBBS and
BDS throughout the country. So, it is clear that a huge competition is
there. Govt of India, Ministry of Defence has provided ample
opportunities to the dependents of Defence personnel & Exservicemen. Some seats have been kept reserved for wards of defence
personnel/ ex-serviceman.
Seats for admission to MBBS and BDS in various states is allotted by
“Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Such
limited seats are available through KSB for widows and wards of
categories of Defense personnel in the following order of priority:
The order of priority for MBBS and BDS Admission in Defense Quota Seats
through NEET 2023 are as under :-
Priority 1 : Widows/Wards of Defense personnel killed in action.
Priority -2 : Wards of disabled in action and boarded out from service.
Priority -3 : Widows/Wards of Defense personnel who died while in
service with death attributable to military service.
Priority -4 : Wards of disabled in service and boarded out with
disability attributable to military service.
Priority -5 : Wards of Ex-Servicemen and serving personnel who are in
receipt of Gallantry Awards:-
